FAQ on Night Clubs

You have a lot of history in Event Planning & Co-Ordination does that affect your relationships with clubs?

With the mobility we have as part of our arsenal, our state of the art equipment often overshadows what is rigged within many of the clubs our DJs have done. We emphasize sonic quality and a friendly atmosphere.

When we find the following maybe we’ll consider giving it a real shot and not a one off…

Security detail has to be respectful to our guests

Layout must be conducive to both dancing and lounging

Room(s) should have decent accented lighting, if not provided, our Martin effects lighting or equivalent should be authorized for use, for a small fee.

Soundsystem is tuned
We own multiple sound rigs… our most common chain starts out with Serato to Control Vinyl on a pair of Technics sl1210 m5g to the mixer (Pioneer DJM 909) into the DBX PA+, Bi Amped to Crown XTIs further managed in HiQnet via a PC laptop, loudspeakers are manufactured by EAW, need we say more?

SOUND IS VERY IMPORTANT

What kind of contract do you typically receive from clubs?

The most popular and fair agreement we obtain is…

Let’s assume this is for a venue that holds appx. 150 people (capacity).
$1500 Bar guarantee w/ $300 .00 flat to cover DJ/Talent expenses.
A minimum of 10% of total bar (cash & credit card sales) for any numbers above the initial guarantee.

Over the years we’ve found this to be the most reasonable deal and have used this as our minimum.

Some clubs do an either or, we don’t typically go for those deals as there should be an incentive for us to promote the event and the owner to try to build a business relationship with us.

We aren’t looking to make a killing but pay our DJs correctly and on time, don’t make them mad because it makes us very upset and that’s not good for business.

Just need our DJs??

What in the world is that DJ playing?

Once again don’t make our DJs mad, if you are a promoter, PROMOTE, don’t tell the DJ to change a song that has people dancing, he’s not telling you how to promote, and if you ask him to do so then you aren’t doing your job.

The neighborhood DJ / my bestfriend / uncle / brother / charges alot less than you do

Chances are they do not have an insurance policy, professional level equipment, over 20 years experience, knowledge and most importantly access to high quality files/songs of every genre in American music and even world music.

You get what you pay for make your event spectacular.
